Looking to invest in a Golf course for sale in Thailand
Older Course with a Great Layout
Set amongst the hills and jungle near Sriracha’, this International Golf Course for sale in Thailand is only located approx. 45 minutes from Pattaya and about 90 minutes from Bangkok on the new freeway.
Opened back in the 1950’s, it became one of the first top golf courses in Thailand and has hosted several national events. It remains today as one of the best mature golf courses in the region. The course has several undulating fairways, mature trees, water hazards and an abundance of bougainvillea bushes, making this golf course one of the prettiest 18 hole courses in the game.
This golf course for sale had its first nine completely redesigned in 1988 to incorporate more water hazards, and brought it into line with the other modern courses in the area. This was a joint venture by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and a Japanese company, aimed to promote golf tourism in Thailand.
The front nine has perhaps the edge on the back nine, and is laid out at the foot of a small tree clad hill. The 2nd a par three across water and the long par 4 3rd are highlights here along with a very long par 5 on the 7th running at 622 yards.
Golf Course Description:
(fast greens & lots of variety; watch out for the monkeys!)
The more interesting holes at this golf course are to found on the front nine, which is laid out in a very natural domain at the foot of small tree-clad hills. The par-3 2nd across water and long par-4 3rd are attractive highlights on the outward nine, where excellent bunkering and dangerous water hazards combine to good effect. The relatively tight and well-bunkered short par-4 6th makes a gentle move up the wooded hillside, only for the monstrously long par-5 7th (622 yards from the tips) to bring you gently back down the slope.
The flatter back-nine doesn’t quite live up to the expectations created by the excellent front nine. The inward holes are not however without their challenges, even if several good-width fairways bordered by light semi-rough appear generously wide on occasions. The par-3 12th and long par-3 17th both require tee-to-green shots over water, while the testing 12th, 13th and 15th holes, also require approach shots over water to reach the safety of the uniformly circular, slightly elevated and often dome-shaped greens. The par-4 18th is a reminder that not all the fairways look “comfortably wide” from the tee, it also allows you to reflect on what a pleasantly enjoyable and varied parkland course this is.
A luxurious modern clubhouse comes lavishly furnished with locker rooms featuring Japanese style baths. The club house restaurant specialises in Japanese cuisine which makes after golf dining particularly well suited to those who prefer this type of food.
The mature golf course for sale is a nice change from the newer and more heavily promoted Pattaya golf courses and is a good choice for Pattaya golfers who prefer well established golf courses over modern man made links.
