Thai Visa Laws Makes It Easier For Long Stay Tourists
This is undoubtedly good news for many expats and long stay tourists who have somehow managed their Thai visa problems. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha seems to have agreed to the introduction of visas between 6 months and multiple entries. According to the Minister of Tourism Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul the new visa that will allow licensees to come several times, will cost 5,000 baht. The proposal will enter into force within 60 days of approval of the Cabinet (Council of Ministers), or around 15 October.
According Charoen Wangananont, president of the Association of Thai Travel Agents, said that the initiative is a good start …, “that even the six-month period may still be too short for some visitors!”
The proposal is part of a plan to boost tourism and help the ailing economy. Thailand hopes to attract 28 million visitors this year.
